Collecting Data
When our field staff visit residents, they gather information on resident
contact sheets that they send back to the office for data collection. They find
out things like the contact information, names, ages, genders, and special needs
of residents at a particular address. This information is collected, updated,
stored, and distributed only for the purpose of the ERP for which it was collected.
It is never sold and is distributed only to those ERP users who would require
it at the time of an emergency—not just to everyone who gets a copy of
the ERP. It is kept as long as that ERP is in use and is destroyed when an ERP
is no longer needed (see Retiring Plans).
EX/PX has office security measures in place to protect our paper and electronic data, including confidential resident information. For questions about privacy rights, consult the governing body for your jurisdiction, available from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
