We move beyond a strictly compliance approach, to a good neighbour approach. For example, during ground truthing, our field staff bring along plenty of info packages so they can decide on the spot if it makes sense to modify the EPZ to include extra homes or facilities. And during training, our facilitators emphasize the prudence for safety and public relations of going the extra mile in terms of communicating risks and accommodating residents. We also include maps in corporate plans where they aren’t specifically required, but can be really helpful for a company looking for government agencies and municipal operators in an emergency.
